Home For Life Advantage began its humble journey over 30 years ago, as a general home remodeling business operating out of the home of our founders, Cindy and Rein. What started as a small home remodeling business eventually evolved as we recognized the growing need for accessibility modifications for individuals with mobility issues. From these early beginnings, our company grew not only in size but in purpose. With the addition of team members who brought their technical expertise in construction, marketing, and logistics, we pivoted from general remodeling to a specialized focus on helping people stay in their homes through thoughtful and innovative modifications.
Our mission has always been clear: to offer the Chicagoland area the opportunity to live independently in their homes for as long as possible. Whether it’s installing grab bars or widening doorways, we aim to ensure that our clients can enjoy their homes without the fear of mobility restrictions. Over time, our services expanded as we sought out the latest innovations in home modifications. By reducing the need for assisted living or a stressful move to a new house, we help people preserve the memories and comfort of their homes.
Research supports the impact of home modifications on reducing the need for home assistance, and that drives our passion even further. Every day, we are inspired by the stories of those we help, knowing that our work makes a real difference. From simple installations to the most advanced operations, including both curved and straight stairlift models, we blend functionality with style, ensuring that our modifications not only serve their purpose but also enhance the beauty of our clients’ homes.
One of our proudest accomplishments in recent years has been our partnership with Stiltz Home Lift. By working with Stiltz, we’re able to offer our clients an affordable, quiet, and energy-efficient home elevator that fits seamlessly into any home and accommodates a wheelchair. With the ability to travel between three floors, Stiltz Home Lift has become a game-changer for many families, enabling them to maintain their independence without sacrificing comfort or design. It’s this kind of innovation that keeps us excited and motivated — seeing the joy and relief on our clients’ faces as they experience the freedom that these modifications bring.
Every client is unique, and every project is like a puzzle waiting to be solved. We pride ourselves on our ability to adapt to each individual’s needs, no matter how intricate or challenging the situation may be. Our team is committed to going the extra mile, custom-ordering items and constantly seeking new products that can further enhance our clients’ lives.
Our commitment to home modifications goes hand in hand with our passion for education. We believe that staying informed is key to providing the best service possible. That’s why we invest in ongoing training for our team, ensuring they have the latest skills and knowledge. We’re also dedicated to community outreach through course presentations, which keep us connected and help us spread awareness about the importance of home modifications. Additionally, we’re certified aging-in-place specialists (CAPS), and we proudly host our own CAPS certification courses to ensure that every member of our team is equipped to elevate our community.
Thanks to the amazing support from the home modification community and the dedication of our team, we’ve been able to expand our reach. We’re thrilled to announce the opening of our second office location in Madison, Wisconsin, managed by our long-time team member, Kris Hansen. This expansion wouldn’t have been possible without the loyalty and encouragement of our clients and community. We’re grateful to be able to continue growing and helping more families live freely in the comfort of their homes.
At Home For Life Advantage, our vision is simple yet profound: to bring life-changing home modifications to those who need them, and to continue innovating in ways that enhance independence and joy in the home. We are honored to be part of this community and excited about what the future holds.
